Auto Parts Supplier
Challenge: An auto parts supplier needed to meet their customer’s guidelines for Quality Control and Reporting using production line data. The part was slated to be produced in Mexico and the production data was to be stored in Michigan. The user interface needed to be easy to navigate and have the flexibility to produce statistical control graphs and summary reports for any date range.

Solution:

ISS worked in conjunction with a Controls Engineer to collect information from the PLCs and temporarily store it on PC in Mexico to provide the necessary information for the production line to operate. ISS then developed routines to import the production data each hour to a SQL server in Michigan. ISS designed and developed a web application to allow users to select various production reports. The reports are exported to Excel for complex graphing. Users are able to save these Excel spreadsheets and run their own queries on the data subset.

Challenge: A growing e-learning provider wanted a secure and efficient
administrative interface for enrolling students and tracking progress.

Challenge: Project Managers needed a centralized place to store project notes, cost expenditures and cost projections.

Innovative Software developed a program that allowed the Engineering Managers to see project status and expenditure tracking for projects under their control. Each PM has access to a list of their projects. From this they enter weekly progress notes and monthly cost expenditures versus projections. Each Site Manager can see a summary compilation of progress notes and expenditures for all their projects. Regional Managers are able to see which projects are tracking according to projections and drill down to specifics if they desire. Reports are automatically emailed to all interested parties. Security levels prevent unauthorized viewing or editing depending on the information.

Construction Firm
Challenge: Construction Managers needed an easy to use interface for managing all their project related forms, status reports and time and billing information. It needed to provide the necessary documentation necessary in the case of litigation. As forms were changed, they needed to be distributed to each CM. This would ensure that everyone was using the same format and the most current version of the form. It needed to be used in both a stand-alone mode out in the field and update to a centralized database on a server.

Solution:

Innovative Software developed a program that allows Construction Managers to select the appropriate project and select the appropriate document from a list as needed. The interface shows which forms were completed and which are outstanding. All RFIs, RFQs, Field Work Orders and Change Orders are summarized on a per project basis giving them an exact accounting of expenditures. Daily Notes list hours spent on the construction site by discipline and vendor and are automatically summarized in a Weekly Report. The time and billing section tracks hours, travel expenses and project costs. The program can be used on a local workstation and the data uploaded to a centralized location. From there, Project Managers can view the information regarding their projects. Only Construction Managers assigned to a project can edit the information for that project.

Challenge: The Company had unsuccessfully searched for a canned program to track their paper shipments from start to finish. They started developing a program in-house and failed. They contracted an outside firm to do it, and they failed. In the meantime their data was getting more disorganized and couldn't keep up with the demand for internal reporting requirements.

Innovative Software designed an easy method for reporting the number of vaccinations given each month by age group and vaccine. A simple database was created and an import routine was developed so that each month the data can be taken from the states' enterprise database and the required report created in a few minutes. This saves the state hours of labor each month.
